I enjoy how this book is designed to help the Italian language student from beginner to advanced levels. The author describes a three step method on how this book can advance the readerâ€™s language comprehension skills. The stories give a good range of Italian culture, history and way of life. I especially enjoy the direct correlation of a paragraph in Italian followed by the same paragraph in English. Many of of these type of books will only give you a short summary of the story in English. This author puts the story in both languages so the reader can easily translate word by word and decipher the sentence structure.
Since I have no one to practice conversation skills, this book has been a great help and much more interesting than the dry study of conjugation of verbs, past tense, present and future tense, etc. It has also been a good indicator of where I need improvement. Learning has been fun with these stories!
Good stories but the formatting could use a little work. There is a lot of white space, and I think it would be better to put the translation on the next page so itâ€™s side-by-side.
It was difficult to read at first because of going back and forth but ended up working out
