- Wow! Beautiful. Thankful. Courageous. Brave. Hopeful. Graceful. Unconditionally loving... So many adjectives to describe this book run rapidly through my mind. I've been waiting for Chris to write this book for quite some time! I finally found the time to read it and am so glad I did. It literally look me 2.5 hours to read in its entirety as it flows so smoothly. Written with such fluidity and love! I knew the movie didn't even come close to the true love story between Selena and Chris.The emotional roller coaster Chris describes from the beginning of his relationship with Selena until her death is one that I would never have the bravery to endure. Thank you Chris Perez for having the courage to pen such a beautiful written memoir! Your strength to reopen your heart exposing the wounds you slightly have been able to cover with a band aide for a few years takes that of courage in which God was so gracious to grant you with therefore allowing us, your fans and readers, the ability to learn the authentic truth regarding your love story with Selena. As suspected, the movie focuses mainly on Selena's family's and fans' love for her. The true "love story" goes far beyond them and the music. Chris shares with us the love story that I believe Selena loved more than anything, that of Selena Quintanella Perez and Chris Perez. Although Chris does not reference or indicate this at all. It is my opinion that the Quintanella family still does not give Chris the respect he deserves. He loved Selena with every fiber of his being as did Selena for Chris. What more could one's family request or their loved one? Very sad! RECOMMEND READ 100%!!!!!
- Loved this so much, I bought it twice. Bought the hardcover and checked out the sample pages on . The sample pages were more than enough to get me hooked on this book, that I bought the version as well, I didn't want to stop reading! So many emotions from this book giddiness when Chris discovered his feelings for Selena, nervousness when they tried to keep their relationship hidden from her father (lost track of how many times I said "Oh boy...", haha!), laughter from all the stories of Selena's mischief, relief when Chris and Selena were finally able to be open about their relationship, happiness about how sweet she was towards people and animals, right down to heartbreak and tears for Chris and the family when they all lost someone they loved so dearly.
I was only 7-years-old when Selena passed. I had friends who knew who she was, but only spoke of her "here and there", not enough to have who she was stick in my young head back then. I had no idea who she really was until the movie came out 2 years after, and I fell in love with the story of who she was and what she and her family went through to achieve their dreams, as well as the love story between her and Chris. After that, I wanted to learn more about who she was, not just as an artist, but as a person as well. Definitely reading this through again once my hardcopy comes in.

Not just for putting your memories with her in writing, but for also sharing it with all of us. - I read this book in less than 24 hours after not being able to put it down no matter what I tried. I even skipped breakfast and lunch reading this book! Chris reveals new information that brings some much depth to their relationship, on stage and off stage, as well as his experience as the guitarist working for Selena y Los Dino's- and Mr. Abraham Quintanilla. A great read for anyone who wants to learn more about the woman Chris and the Quintanilla family (and fans) loved so dearly.
- ANYTHING FOR, SELENAAAASSSS!
Chris captured the private side of Selena and the journey and tenderness of their relationship in a respectful way. He shares some details with us, but keeps most details for himself, as he should. He shares just enough to give us a glimpse of the Selena he knew off stage and fell in love with.
I read most of this through tears.
We all miss her so much!

- I am not much of a reader but I finished this book in a week! Chris does an amazing job with this book. It is funny, sweet, and surprising. The quality of the book isn't the best. Once I read about half way through the book, the binding started to mess up (see pictures) The pages that have the pictures are half detached from the book now... other than that shipping was very fast and the book is amazing. I am a happy shopper! If you haven't read this already I highly recommend it!
- Wow. Let me first start with that. This book was just so emotionally driven as you'd expect and just beautiful. I learned so much about Selena the person through this book and the bond and love shared between Selena and Chris. It was nice look into how impulsive and caring Selena was as a person and how driven she was.
I loved reading about how it was for Chris living with her and how they managed their relationship while being extremely busy in the work life. I was born in 1994 and a few months later Selena was gone from this Earth. I had the chance of falling in love with her through the movie. I learned and loved Selena's music just through that gateway to her. I was maybe 4 when the movie came out. I don't speak Spanish but I can sing Selena's music. She had a way of bringing people together even in her death.
This book is great for new and old Selena fans. It shows how down-to-earth she was. How quirky she was and adventurous. She cared so much for her family and her husband Chris and this book gave me so much inspiration and love.
I completely recommend.
